Healthy Employees are the Heart
of Everything We Do

I am chairing the American Heart Association’s Start! Heart Walk scheduled for November 6th, 2010 in Washington, DC. The event will take place at National Stadium and will include a cross-divisional Sodexo team drawn from Headquarters and our area accounts, as well as teams from many major corporations in the Greater Washington Region.
In addition, our SVPs are forming teams in major metro areas around the country to participate in local AHA Start! Walks.
I am asking for your help to make this Health Care Market-wide effort a success. Our goal is to raise a total of $175K for the American Heart Association.
You may be wondering why I decided to participate in this fundraising effort when Sodexo’s corporate philanthropy has centered on STOP Hunger.
Our people – both in and outside the unit – are the face of Sodexo. We work hard every day to deliver a better Sodexo Experience for the Patients, Residents, Students and Customers we serve. In order to be able to do our jobs well and live our best lives, we need to take care of our own health. It is not a stretch to say that Healthy Employees are the Heart of Everything We Do. As you know, heart disease and stroke are major killers, and they don’t discriminate – everyone is vulnerable. However, both are preventable and AHA’s Start! Walking initiative is a great way to engage our team members to do something positive for their health and well-being and help fight heart disease. I hope you will participate and encourage your family, friends and colleagues to do so, as well.
